Like many of you, we're big fans of Chef Michael Smith. Few television chefs have his ability to maintain such a warm and welcoming feel. In his latest new show, Chef Michael’s Kitchen, Michael teaches viewers about the basics of cooking (albeit with a twist). The show is a great way to discover new recipes that you can easily make at home (and in under 15 minutes!).

In the season premiere, Michael demonstrated how to make Pan Rush Salmon with two different flavours: first with tomatoes and then with bacon and oregano, and a side of chowder. The important thing to remember when it comes to Chef Michael’s Kitchen is to keep things as simple as possible, while still maintaining flavour in your cooking. In fact, Michael’s salmon recipes were done in three easy steps. Literally as easy as 1, 2, 3! Who doesn’t love that?
To finish things off, he let viewers in on his salad-making secrets. A great tip to keep in mind is that by ensuring your salads are made up of four main ingredients: greens, garnish, dressing and crunch (croutons), you can be guaranteed that every salad you make will be a hit.

Chef Michael Smith chose a garden salad topped with red wine vinaigrette dressing and homemade croutons as his first option. But if you want to get a bit more complex, you can go with his second offering: harvest salad with apple cider vinaigrette. Michael added dried cranberries, apple slices, shredded turnips and flavoured pumpkin pie seeds to harvest greens and topped off his salad with luscious apple cider vinaigrette for a fruity taste.
Since Michael Smith is such an advocate for simple and sustainable cooking, it should come as no surprise that Chef Michael’s Kitchen will feature amazing recipes that you can easily make at home. This is definitely a show that everyone can get on board with!
