After a quick break during the holidays, we're back with our weekly posts where we share some of the fun discussions we've been having with our Twitter followers! Tweet us @FoodNetworkCA to let us know if your tweets made our post!
This week we wanted to hear about the best dishes you served during the holiday season (and if you had any funny mishaps)!
@ccath - I made Chocolate Cranachan as a dessert for Christmas Day. Also brined a turkey for the first time!
@HarmFreeman - I made #PaulaDeen french toast casserole Xmas morn - spilled over & and smoked out the house of 16 people. #embarrassed
@foodwithashley - Hey @FoodNetworkCA my fav was #bacon wrapped turkey, inspired by @GordonRamsay01
@CDNSportySmurf - Baked whole pickerel! Aside from Christmas day our Japanese-Canadian family enjoys primarily seafood :)
@bigapplecurry - We made Indian vegetable cutlets - our tradition is to have Indian food on Christmas Eve!
@PreciousAngelzz - This season my fav dish was chicken parm. As for #mishaps oh ya, ran out of cornstarch for shortbread! Lol
Next, to celebrate the premiere of the new show Sugar Dome (airing Mondays at 10pm ET), we asked about your worst baking disasters. These really made us LOL!
@meeners - Never use icing in a can with the spray nozzle to save time unless you want to be cleaning red icing off the ceiling.
@terrylo_calgary - My gf at the time, as a joke, replaced the sugar I was using with a Habanero sugar in my cupcakes #SugarDome
@rebecca_maier - I'd say when the bottom of my spring-form pan collapsed from the rim in the midst of putting a cheesecake in the oven.
@cuppycakequeen3 - #worstbakingdistaster I made a cake and instead of sugar used salt by accident.
As always, tweet us @FoodNetworkCA if you have any food-related questions or if you want to join the discussion!
