If you've been glued to the TV watching the
Winter Games like I've been, you've no doubt you've seen the ad
featuring Galen Weston talking about
President's Choice Blue Menu products.
So today I'm reviewing an item from their healthier Blue Menu which
apparently has more of the good stuff: omega 3, fibre and less of
the bad stuff: calories, fat and sodium.
From the over 400 products in their PC Blue Menu line, I tried the
vegetarian chili. (I wasn't quite ready to do the
meat version, -- canned meat isn't really my thing you know?) To be
honest, I was a bit skeptical. I tend to avoid instant and
microwavable foods, partly because I live with someone who is a
certifiable microwave-phobe - I kid you not.
But before I knew it, I had demolished my microwavable container of
vegetarian chili. It had good texture and a nice flavour. I also
liked that it wasn't too salty. And at $2.50 a pop, it made for an
economical and convenient lunch.
