Born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Kim holds an honours degree in journalism. She started her broadcasting career in 1998 with the CBC at the award-winning youth consumer show, Street Cents. In 1999, after her first year hosting a national program, Kim earned a Gemini nomination. Over the next three years, the show won three Geminis and an International Emmy. Following that success, Kim went on to report for many other CBC shows including Marketplace and CBC Newsworld. She also contributed to the first season of CBC's The Hour. Outside her hectic TV schedule, Kim has donated her time to bringing awareness to many charitable causes including: Lupus, Sick Kids, Heart and Stroke, the Diabetes Association of Canada, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and Care Canada. She lives in Toronto.
