Pro quarterback, popular sports commentator and cooking enthusiast Matt Dunnigan spreads the love of flame broiled as he and his Road Grill team go in search of summer celebrations, where they prepare simple, delicious favourites on the Barbeque in front of a live audience. Matt’s motto - have flame will travel!
Not only do the racers in the Soap Box Derby have a need for speed, they have a need for BBQ! Matt & the RG team cook up a feast to slow down any speedster. The menu: Smoked Shrimp B.L.T., Rotisserie Chicken Injected and Marinated in Orange, Pineapple& Basil, Grilled Sweet Potato &Beet Pops, Summer Berry Pudding.
Matt spends the day by the water; fishing, playing Frisbee, catching some rays. What goes with water & sun? BBQ!!! Matt & his team make a seafood buffet of Grilled Clams in the Shell with Serrano Ham, Smoked Lake Rainbow Trout, Grilled Lobster with Grapefruit Salsa, Crab Stuffed Avocados.
Matt gets down and dirty playing some beach Volleyball. In between bumps, sets, & spikes the RG team serves up a smorgasbord of great food. The menu: Grilled Chicken Breast on Foccacia with Grilled Apples & Cambozola Cheese, Sichuan Ribs, Roasted Corn and Pepper Potato Salad, Homemade Protein Bars.
Forget bicycle built for two. This Big Bike fits 30 people! Matt & the team join forces with the Heart & Stroke foundation to raise money by riding around a track. Matt feeds these ‘bikers’ some healthy and delicious grub. The menu: Grilled Calamari, Smoked Turkey Fajitas, Grilled Scallops and Watermelon Salsa, Cold Gazpacho.
It’s a bird, it’s plane, it’s a day of great BBQ. Inspired by the aerial acrobatics of CF18’s and Harvards, Matt cooks up a variety of poultry & fowl. The menu: Bacon Wrapped Quail Stuffed with 3 Cream Cheeses, Raspberry Chipotle Turkey Wings, Grilled Balsamic Cherry Marinated Duck Breast, Deviled Eggs.
Whether you’re a pro or a beginner, everyone is welcome to join the Road Grill team at the 19th tee where Matt is busy burnin’ up his Q’s. What better way to end your day at the links with an enticing menu of Lemon Grass Shrimp , Smoked Rack of Pork with a Blackberry Cherry Sauce , Basil Smashed Potatoes with Mushrooms, Arugula Salad with Peaches, Blue Cheese and Walnuts.
In between hoisting sails and scrubbing the deck, Matt and his team prepare a feast for the sailors before going on a long voyage. Not only is the weather perfect for sailing, it’s perfect for BBQing! The menu: Scallop Corn Bacon Burger, Maple-Apple Brined Pork Chops, Grilled Tuna Bruschetta, Strawberry Marscapone Trifle.
Teddy Bears of all age, shape, and size join our grill team with their owners for a day of games, rides and some teddy bear repair. Matt & the RG team are BBQing a menu even the pickiest eater will love. The menu: Grilled Almond Butter & Banana Sandwiches, Grilled Meatball Sub, Smoked White Cheddar Macaroni, Quick & Snappy Ginger Lemon Ice Cream Sandwiches.
Llamas, horses, & pigs…Oh My! The RG team lends it support to a farm animal rescue. Matt sets up his grills during a weekend fundraiser and stays friendly to his animal buddies by serving up a vegetarian menu. The menu: Portobello Burger Stack, Smoked Corn Tamale with Goat Cheese& Salsa Fresca, Pizza Salad Sandwich, Tabbouleh Salad.
The neighbourhood outdoor pool is a great way to cool down on a hot summer day. Matt & the Grill Team are dipping their feet in the pool, splashing with the kids, and, of course, grilling up some fabulous eats to munch on while playing in the park or relaxing on your towel. The menu: BBQ’d Pork Tenderloin & Pears on Bagels, Grilled Asian Chicken Burger, Surf & Turf Kabobs with Arugula Pesto, BBQ’d Cinnamon Donuts.
It’s graduation day at Chef School and Matt & the Grill team are sharing in the festivities. To congratulate the new Chefs, Matt has cooked up a masterful menu of fancy, yet simple, dishes. The menu: Mixed Seafood Grill on a Maple Plank, Maple Rosemary Rotisserie Injected Chicken, Spicy Asian Lamb Rack, Salmon Pastrami.
The Road Grill team goes rural and gets lost in hedge mazes at Saunders Farm. Luckily they find their way out in time to cook up some BBQ and feed all families at the farm. The menu: Grilled Chicken Legs with Crunchy Chip Crust, Smoked Ham with Maple Mustard Glaze, Planked Asparagus Bundles with Cheese and Prosciutto, Cobb Salad.
Matt and the Road Grill Team get in the saddle and get inspired to grill up some BBQ! With a full school of riders to feed they grill up some Wild West plates. The menu: Texas Rockets, Perfect Beef Jerky, Slow Cooked Beef Brisket, Hearty Beet & Fennel Salad.
Matt, Karrie, Jenna and Charlotte are ‘Team Road Grill’ at a fundraiser ball hockey tournament. With over 600 hungry ball players to feed they fire it up and serve the players Grilled Lamb Chops with Mint Pesto sauce, Slap shot Smoked Chicken, Power Play Crab cakes, and a Breakaway Pear and Fennel Salad.
Matt and his BBQ team hit the soft sand under the hot summer sun and treat the beach lovers to some great food that can be eaten on the go - Blackened Scallops with Avocado Salsa, Slo Smoked Beef Ribs, Flank Steak Fajitas, and Watermelon Salad.
The Buskers Festival is in town and the streets are full of artists and performers. Matt, Karrie, Jenna and Charlotte hit the grills to do the kind of entertaining they do best – BBQ. They cook up a feast for the crowd including a Jester Crown Roast of Pork with Concord Grape Sauce, Spicy Shrimp on Stilts, Beer Braised Sausage Balloons with Caramelized Onions, and Black Magic Figs.
The United Way is raising funds for people around the world by having a carwash. Matt and the Road Grill team are pitching in to feed the hungry clean car drivers and volunteers to some great grilled chow including Lime Jalapeno Chicken Wings With Raita Dip; Beef Ribs With Vinegar Bbq Sauce; Killer Bbq Fries With Homemade Ketchup And Some Ice Cold Kiwi Melon Frosty's. Perfect for a hot summer's day
Matt Dunigan and the Road Grill Team join some friends at a Cottage Party to celebrate the end of school for the summer. They keep the festivities going with delicious grilled eats like tender Bbqed Rib Eye Steaks with a Chimmi Churri Sauce; succulent Jerk Pulled Pork Sandwiches with Fresh Mango; Roasted Garlic Onion Potatoes and Greek Salad in a Pita.
Matt and the Road Grill Team grill up some picnic inspired chow at a bike ride Fundraiser to help families dealing with Autism. They heat up the grills and tempt the crowd with Hazelnut Crusted Halibut with Strawberry Salsa, Pork Picnic Roast with Blackberry Chipotle Glaze, Grilled Paninis with Roast Veggies, and Spinach Salad with Apples, Bacon and Cashews. A good cause, a good bike and a good lunch makes for a great day.
Market fresh food inspires Matt and the Road to cook up an incredible midsummer feast for passers-by. Roast Leg of Lamb with Summer Herbs, Rosemary Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Wild Berry Sauce, Grilled Trout with Peaches and a Bumper Crop Tomato Salad have the locals raiding the market to stay stocked on the season’s best.
Using internationally inspired recipes, Matt and the Road Grill team take us on a taste bud tour around the world with Stuffed Peppers, Bison Burgers with Oka Cheese, Tandoori Lamb Ribs and Tea Smoked Hoisin Duck.
Matt and the Road Grill Team prepare the ideal BBQed Sunday Dinner with 100% locally grown ingredients from the Farmers Market. Matt and the Road Grill Team put the pedal to the metal at the Go Kart Track. They crank up the heat on the grills and pull out all the stops making a feast for the local speed demons including some Summertime Pizza, Sticky BBQ Chicken, Smoked Turkey Pastrami Sandwiches and a Summer Mellon Ball Salad.
Matt and the Road Grill team lend a hand at a Habitat for Humanity building site to feed a hungry group of charitable volunteers. Inspired by the work that these people do, Matt and the team fire up the BBQs and make some delicious Brick Chicken, some Maple Wood Planked Pork, Steak Sandwiches, and Blue Cheese and Bacon Potato Salad.
Star CFL QB and BBQ guru Matt Dunigan hits the soccer field at a local youth soccer tournament to try his hand at real foot-ball. After some fancy footwork he leaves the field and hits the grills with his BBQ team to cook up some Slo Smoked Saucy Ribs, some Cheesy Bacon Potato Skins, and Chicken on a stick with Home Made Plum Sauce for the players.
Everyone should treat Mom to a special breakfast and Matt Dunigan and his team of grilling gurus treated a hungry crowd celebrating Mother’s Day to a great grilled brunch. The families feasted on Stuffed Blueberry Marscapone French Toast, a light and delicious Veggie Frittata, juicy Applewood Smoked Canadian Bacon and Fresh Fruit Smoothies.
Matt and the Road Grill Team “drop in” on a group of thrill seeking skydivers and their families at a Skydiving Jamboree. They let the BBQs rip and grill up three different kinds of wings – smoked, jerked and ‘suicide hot’. Then Matt and the gang cool things down with an asparagus cucumber salad.
The Antique Steam train is in town and the kids are fired up! Matt and the Road Grill team give the crowd something to chew-chew on with delicious Grilled Vegetable Quesadillas, Honey Mustard Chicken Drumsticks, Grilled Turkey Burgers with Pineapple Salsa, and Grilled Corn with Orange Butter.
Matt and his team of bbq gurus visit the tennis club and serve the up some grilled eats for the club members and passers by. Hot Shot Hot Smoked Salmon, Second Serve Beef Tenderloin with Cherry Sauce, Mixed Doubles Asparagus with Citrus Butter with a Grand Slam Beet Salad are the perfect match after a long day on the courts.
When Matt is not playing football, you can find him on the baseball diamond. This time the Road Grill team follows him to the park and together they treat the ball players to two kinds of mini burgers, some triple play stuffed veal, Mushroom Fricassee on a baguette, and Homerun Mixed Smoked Nuts.
Matt and the Road Grill Team BBQ into the night at a small town country fair. Lamb Souvlaki pita with a Tzatziki Sauce, Slow Smoked Brisket, Bacon Wrapped Grilled Corn and Caramel Kettle Corn are serious competition for the midway, petting zoo and cotton candy.
Matt Dunigan loves animals – including dogs. He and his team take Road Grill to a Dog Show and give these dog lovers a little taste of what the QB is cooking - Garlicky Grilled Artichokes; Bacon Wrapped Halibut With Lime Scallion Sauce Sauce; Slow Cooked Spareribs With Guava Glaze; And A Summer Wild Berry Crisp.
The Road Grill Team shop through a neighbourhood Garage Sale and then treat the sellers and the buyers to a grilled menu of everyday dishes with a new twist. Matt Dunigan and his team grill up some Grilled Porterhouse Steaks in a Homemade Steak Spice; Grilled Lemon Proscuitto Scallops; Planked Stuffed Potatoes and a Grilled Caesar Salad.
Matt and the Road Grill team dive in and grill up a feast of great grilled chow for some hungry athletes at the Ultimate Frisbee Tournament. Jumbo shrimp with a rosemary dry rub, Slo-smoked Pork Butt in a Papaya Marinade, and Asian Pasta Salad keep these athletes well fed and asking for more.
Matt and the Road Grill team do some extreme grilling for the Wakeboarding and Skateboarding crowd at a local park. The crowd flips for the Black Bean Mussels, Prosciutto Wrapped Chicken Breasts Stuffed with Goat Cheese, Mesquite Smoked Tomato Brushetta and Smoked Banana Sticks with Rum Butter Glaze.
Matt and the Road Grill Team spend the day playing around the Water Park and cooking up some great BBQ for the slippery sliders. The Spit Roasted Lemon-Lime Butter Chicken, Grilled Swordfish Skewers with Caribbean Salsa, and Smokey Spareribs with BBQ Sauce are a hit and result in a big splash with this pool loving crowd.
