Glazed Root Vegetables

Recipe summary

Filling root vegetables with a sweet maple glaze are a wonderful addition to any table.

Ingredients

  • 1 celery root, peeled
  • 1 turnip, peeled
  • 1 parsnip, peeled
  • 1 carrot, peeled
  • 1 potato
  • 1 onion, peeled
  • 1 stick butter (1/2 cup)
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper

Directions

  1. Cut all vegetables into roughly equal sized pieces and place in a large pot. Add butter, sugar, chicken stock, salt and pepper and cover with a tight-fitting lid. Cook over medium-high heat until vegetables are tender, but not mushy. Remove with a slotted spoon and reduce sauce to a glaze.
  2. Place vegetables on a serving platter and pour glaze over them.
