Dish It Out In Italy

Host, Chef Christine Cushing takes a whirlwind gastronomic tour through some of the most beautiful landscapes of Italy to experience the warm hospitality and time honored culinary traditions of the Italian food world. Traveling in the regions of Abruzzo, Emilia-Romagna and Piedmonte, Christine visits cultural and culinary hot spots such as Bologna, Parma and Asti, home of the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners.

Throughout the voyage, viewers will get a first-hand look at the history, customs and techniques used to create world-famous Olive Oil, Pasta, Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese, Prosciutto Ham and fine Italian Wines.

The spectacular trip wraps up with an incredible Italian feast created by Chef Christine in the castle of Costigliole d'Asti.

Christine Cushing

Born in Athens, Greece, Christine immigrated to Canada with her family at the age of one. While growing up in Toronto, her easy-bake oven soon became her most prized possession. At nine, she graduated to a real stove and began cooking alongside her father—an accomplished home chef. Although cooking was in her veins, Christine decided to pursue a career in her other passion: The field of linguistics. However, in the midst of her studies she discovered that the kitchen was calling her, so she dropped the dictionary and was wooed away by her love of food.
