Antipasto Skewers

Whip up these creative snacks as an appetizer or hors d'oeurves for your next party! Courtesy of Alison Kent

Appetizer, Cheese, No Cook, Italian, Party Favourites, Snack


2 tablespoons (30 mL) olive oil

1 tablespoon (15 mL) red wine vinegar

½ teaspoon (2 mL) Dijon mustard

1 small garlic clove, minced

1 pinch each salt, pepper and dried oregano

16 ¾ inch cubes Black Diamond Mozzarella Cheese (about 4 oz/125 g)

16 cherry tomatoes

16 Kalamata or other black olives

8 marinated or canned artichoke hearts, drained and halved

16 deli-thin round slices Genoa or other favourite salami, each folded in quarters


1. In a bowl, whisk oil, vinegar, mustard, salt, pepper and oregano. Add cheese, tomatoes, olives and artichokes, tossing to coat; let stand for 10 minutes.

2. On each of 16 small skewers, thread one piece each of artichoke, salami, cheese, olive and tomato. Place skewers on a platter; drizzle with any remaining marinade.
