Bal Arneson's Chai Latte

Skip the coffee shop line and make your own foamy chai latte.

Recipe also requires an additional 10 minutes of inactive prep time for milk to simmer.

Directions for: Bal Arneson's Chai Latte

Ingredients

4-5 whole cloves

5 green cardamom pods

3 brown cardamom pods

2 cinnamon sticks

1 tsp ground ginger

1 Tbsp sugar

1 Tbsp black tea leaves

1 cup milk

1 pinch ground cardamom

1 pinch ground cinnamon

Directions

1. Pour milk into a small pot and bring to a simmer. Turn heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes. Strain into a 2 cup measure and using an electric milk frother or an espresso machine, steam the milk until it is thick and foamy. Pour into 2 large latte cups and spoon foam on top. Sprinkle with cardamom and cinnamon and serve.
