directions
Start by making your simple syrup. Pour the sugar and water into a small pot and bring to a boil, then pull off the heat. The sugar will have totally dissolved. If you would like to infuse the sweetener with spearmint then add the leaves now. Allow the mixture to cool, then remove the leaves.
Meanwhile, juice 2-3 lemons until you have ½ cup juice.
Combine the juice in a pitcher with 2L of cold water and stir.
Add about 6 tbsp of simple syrup to sweeten the lemonade. Stir well and store in the fridge to keep cold.
*Simple syrup should be stored in a clean container in the fridge, it will last several weeks.
