Mexican Beer-Marinated Chicken Drumsticks

These tasty drumsticks are a delicious summertime entree, served up with a homemade spiced sour cream.

ingredients

Mexican Beer Marinade

bottle (330 mL) Mexican blond beer

tbsp (30 mL) lime juice

tbsp (45 mL) soy sauce

clove garlic, finely chopped

tsp crushed red pepper flakes

chicken drumsticks

Spiced Sour Cream

cup (250 mL) sour cream
½
tsp chili powder
Zest of 1 lime

Try this marinade with pork chops or chicken breasts, too.

Step 1

In a glass dish or a large sealable plastic bag, combine the beer, lime juice, soy sauce, garlic and red pepper flakes. Add the drumsticks and coat well with the marinade. Cover the dish or seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, or overnight.

Step 2

In a small bowl, combine all the ingredients. Season with salt and pepper. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Step 3

Preheat the grill, setting the burners to high. Oil the grate.

Step 4

Reduce the heat to medium. Grill the chicken for about 10 minutes on each side, or until the meat easily falls off the bone. Season with salt and pepper. Serve with spiced sour cream and corn on the cob.
