Mulled Tonic

When you combine your favourite fruity tea with warm mulling spices, you get the perfect balance of tangy fruit and winter comfort. Oh, and a splash of rum doesn’t hurt either. Courtesy of DAVIDsTEA.

Beverage, Christmas, Quick and Easy


3 Perfect Spoonfuls (2 1/2 teaspoons ea.) Redberry Tonic (or your favoutie fruity tea)

2 cups water

1 Perfect Spoonful (2.5 teaspoons ea.) brown sugar

1 large cinnamon stick, cut in half

3 cloves

2 ounces rum


1. In a saucepan, combine 2 cups of water, cinnamon, cloves, and sugar. Simmer over medium heat for 5 minutes, then remove from heat.

2. Add Redberry Tonic to a DAVIDsTEA filter and place the filter in the saucepan. Steep for 6 minutes, then remove filter.

3. Ladle tea into cups, making sure to include a cinnamon piece in every cup. Add 1 oz of rum and a couple of orange slices to each cup.
