5 lb(s) red apples, cored and cut into chunks (Spartan, McIntosh, Cortland)
1 cup sugar
¾ cup lemon juice
1. In a saucepan, combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat to medium and simmer, stirring frequently, until the apples are soft, about 25 minutes.
2. Purée the mixture in a blender. Strain.
