Savoury Braised Green Beans

1 tablespoon (15 mL) Becel® Buttery Taste margarine
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 pound (500 g) green beans
½ cup (125 ml) fat free reduced sodium chicken or vegetable broth
1 teaspoon (5 ml) lemon juice (optional)
1. In 12-inch non-stick skillet, melt Becel® Buttery Taste margarine over medium-high heat and cook onion, stirring occasionally, 4 minutes or until tender.
2. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds. Stir in green beans and cook, stirring occasionally, 1 minute.
3. Add broth and lemon juice, then bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium and simmer 6 minutes or until green beans are crisp-tender. Season with salt and black pepper if desired.
