Slow Cooker Ribs

cup ketchup

Tbsp brown sugar

Tbsp onion flakes

Tbsp cider vinegar

Tbsp Worcestershire sauce

tsp chili powder

tsp hot chili sauce

bay leaf

cup water
½
cup light beer (can be non-alcoholic)

lb(s) (1350g) lean pork or beef ribs.

Rice

1 ½
cup basmati rice
3
cup water

Broccoli

5
cup frozen broccoli florettes ( 450 g)
butter (optional)

Step 1

Mix the following together in a large bowl or container: ketchup, brown sugar, onion flakes, cider vinegar, Worcestershire, chili powder, hot chili sauce, bay leaf, water and light beer.

Step 2

Slice ribs into strips and submerge in sauce in slow cooker. Leave overnight in fridge. In the morning, return center pot with cover to the outer crock and set on low heat.

Step 3

When you get home for supper, combine rice and water in a large microwave-safe pot or casserole dish. Cover and microwave at high for 10 minutes, then medium 10 minutes. Remove from microwave and let stand.

Step 4

Rinse broccoli in colander. Place in a microwave-safe pot with 2 tablespoons water and a little butter if desired. Cover. Microwave at high for 5 minutes, and let stand.
