can (19 oz/540 mL) chickpeas, drained and rinsed

cup (250 mL) drained and chopped roasted red peppers

cup (250 mL) shredded Black Diamond Medium Cheddar Cheese

clove garlic, minced

Tbsp (30 mL) olive oil
1
Tbsp (15 mL) lemon juice
1
tsp (5 mL) smoked sweet paprika

tsp (1 mL) each salt and pepper

mini pita breads or crackers
chopped fresh chives or parsley

Step 1
In a food processor, purée chickpeas, peppers, cheese, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, paprika, salt and pepper until smooth.

Toast pita breads; top each with about 1 tbsp (15 mL) hummus; sprinkle with chives, parsley, or a touch more paprika, if desired.
