Greta Podleski Greta is one half of the sister act that wrote cookbooks Looneyspoons, Crazy Plates and Eat, Shrink & Be Merry! Greta’s love of cooking began in her childhood after receiving an Easy-Bake Oven as a birthday gift. By age 12, she was preparing three-course dinners for her five older sisters and her parents, using a real oven. Greta and her food-obsessed dog, Lexi, live in a 150-year-old farmhouse in rural Kitchener.
Janet is one half of the sister act that wrote cookbooks Looneyspoons, Crazy Plates and Eat, Shrink & Be Merry! An avid athlete since the moment her mom settled Janet's diaper-clad bottom into a Jolly Jumper in 1966, she was eventually inducted into Carleton University's Sports Hall of Fame in 2000 (for soccer and basketball). In addition to a B.A. in Psychology, she also has degree as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and is currently studying in the emerging field of Energy Medicine. Janet lives and hikes near High Park in Toronto with her Jack Russell Terrier, Lacey Lou.
In addition to writing three blockbuster bestselling cookbooks, Looneyspoons, Crazy Plates (a finalist for the James Beard Foundation Cookbook Awards) and Eat, Shrink & Be Merry (announced as the top-selling cookbook of the last decade by Chapters/Indigo, the pun-loving sisters have been monthly columnists for Reader's Digest and Taste of Home magazines, and were voted into Canada's Top 40 Under 40 in 2000.
