Happy November! As we start this new month, we say goodbye to pumpkin and start preparing for the holiday full-court press (if you’ve managed to get this far without seeing a Christmas decoration, kudos).

This year, pumpkin spice reached new levels of saturation thanks in part to parodies that lit up social media (like pumpkin spice female hygiene products… eek) and an earlier-than-ever introduction into our lattes, muffins, donuts, whiskey, perfume and chocolate. We admit it: we’ve got a gourd hangover.

But instead of turning our back on the noble pumpkin until next fall, we’ve turned to our Food Network Canada friends for inventive and inspiring ways to keep the orange in our life — at least until December.

Giada De Laurentiis showed off these Pumpkin Ginger Chocolate Muffins on the Today Show and her fabulous Instagram feed. We can’t be mad at ‘em.

Jamie Oliver is passionate about his pumpkin seeds (he calls chucking them in the garbage “a crime”). And right now would be the perfect time to stock up on pumpkin leftovers… just think of all the sad (and maybe slightly imperfect) guys left behind at the grocery store. He also pointed a link to flapjack artist @saipancakes — how cute are these pumpkin-shaped pancakes!

Thanksgiving may be a distant memory to Canadians, but the US is gearing up for one of the biggest eating days of the year. Rachael Ray’s Every Day magazine’s Pinterest page has a board dedicated to desserts, and not just run-of-the-mill fare: Pumpkin Gingersnap Cheesecake and Spiced Pumpkin Mousse Truffle are enough to make us consider Canadian Thanksgiving: The Sequel.

Have I ever told you how much I love The Pioneer Woman? Well I’m telling you know – I love her! Her Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls are sticky, gooey goodness, but it’s her practical, step-by-step guide to making pumpkin puree that is fall gold.
