The 1999 is an easy, effervescent sparkling cocktail for last-minute holiday guests. It is a variation on the classic French 75 adding floral and citrus notes with Lillet and jewel-like pomegranate seeds.

Directions for: 1999 Cocktail



1 oz Lillet

½ oz lemon juice

½ tsp Simple Syrup (see recipe)

sparkling wine

lemon peel

Simple Syrup

1 cup sugar

1 cup water



1. Combine Lillet, lemon juice and simple syrup in a champagne flute or coupe.

2. Top with sparkling wine. Stir to combine.

3. Rub a lemon peel around the rim of the glass.

4. Garnish with pomegranate seeds.

Simple Syrup

1. Combine sugar and water in a saucepan over high heat.

2. Bring to a boil and stir until sugar has dissolved completely.

3. Allow to cool.
