Stir-Fry Sauce

tsp oyster sauce

tsp sesame oil

tsp sugar

Tbsp water

Tbsp ginger-sesame sauce (can be szechuan, peanut satay or Thai)

Tbsp prepared garlic

cup chicken broth

Marinade

Tbsp cornstarch

Tbsp soy sauce

Tbsp water

Tbsp red wine (can be non-alcoholic)

tsp sugar

Asian Beef with Snow Peas and Rice

lb(s) (450g) flank or sirloin steak
1 ½
cup basmati or white rice
3
cup water
1
tsp sesame oil
1
tsp ginger powder (or 2 teaspoons prepared ginger)
½
tsp red crushed chilies
2
green onions
1 ½
lb(s) (600g) frozen snow peas (or fresh)

Step 1

Combine the following in another small bowl: cornstarch, blend in oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, water, ginger-sesame sauce, garlic and chicken broth.

Step 2

Cover and leave in fridge overnight.

Step 3

Combine the following in a medium size mixing bowl in this order: corn starch, stir in soy sauce, gradually add water, red wine and sugar.

Step 4

Slice beef against the grain in strips approximately 2 inches long.

Step 5

Add to marinade bowl. Toss with a fork until well coated.

Step 6

Cover and leave in fridge overnight.

Step 7

Heat oil in a large nonstick frying pan or work at medium high.

Step 8

Add ginger, drained marinated beef and chili flakes.

Step 9

Slice green onion and add to pan.

Step 10

Toss until meat browns.

Step 11

Add stir-fry sauce and snow peas.

Step 12

Toss until sauce thickens slightly and snow peas are tender but crisp.

Step 13

Serve over rice.
