Directions for: Chewy Pecan Chocolate Bars

½ cup unsalted butter, room temperature

1 cup light brown sugar, packed

1 large egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

½ cup cocoa powder, sifted

¼ cup all-purpose flour

½ tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

1 cup instant oats

⅔ cup sweetened condensed milk

½ cup cream cheese, room temperature

2 Tbsp cocoa powder sifted

1 tsp vanilla extract

¾ cup pecan pieces

⅓ cup chocolate chips

2 cup chocolate chips

1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease and line a 9-inch square pan with parchment paper so that it hangs over the sides of the pan.

2. For crust, beat butter and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Stir in cocoa powder, flour, baking soda, salt and oats and press into prepared 9-inch pan. Bake for 12 minutes, while preparing filling.

1. For filling, beat condensed milk, cream cheese, cocoa powder and vanilla until smooth. Spread mixture over crust, still warm from the oven. Bake for about 20 minutes, until set.

1. For dip, melt chocolate chips in microwave until melted and smooth, stirring every 10 seconds. Slice cocoa pecan bars into chocolate sized bars and dip in chocolate mixture. Cool to room temperature.
