tsp (5 mL) each dried oregano and ground coriander

can (28 oz/796 mL) crushed tomatoes

can (19 oz/540 mL) red kidney beans, drained and rinsed

cup (375 mL) Black Diamond Nachos and Tacos Shredded Cheese

cup (125 mL) sour cream (approx.)

Step 1

Cut potatoes into ½-inch (1 cm) thick sticks. In a large bowl, toss potatoes with oil and half of the salt. Spread onto 2 parchment paper-lined baking sheets. Bake in preheated 425°F (220°C) oven, turning once, until crisp and golden, 40 to 50 minutes.

Step 2

Meanwhile, in saucepan over medium-high heat, fry beef, breaking up with a spoon, until no longer pink, about 5 minutes. Add onion, garlic, chili powder, oregano, coriander and remaining salt; fry, stirring occasionally, until onion is softened, about 3 minutes.

Stir in tomatoes, beans and hot sauce, if using; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring often, until very thick, about 20 minutes.

Divide fries among dishes; spoon chili overtop. Sprinkle with cheese; top with sour cream and green onions.
