Ingredients

Chocolate Layer Cake

cup all-purpose flour

cup granulated sugar

cup cocoa, sifted

tsp baking soda

tsp baking powder

cup Natrel Lactose Free Milk
½
cup vegetable oil

tsp vanilla

cup boiling water

Frosting

½
cup lactose free margarine
4
cup icing sugar, sifted
½
cup cocoa, sifted
cup Natrel Lactose Free Milk
1
tsp vanilla

Directions

Step 1

Combine first 6 dry ingredients in large mixer bowl.

Step 2

Add eggs, Natrel Lactose Free Milk, oil and vanilla. Beat on low speed of electric mixer 1 minute to blend then on medium speed 2 minutes.

Step 3

Add boiling water. Mix well (batter will be thin). Pour batter into 3 greased 9” (1.5 L) round cake pans, dividing evenly.

Step 4

Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 25 to 30 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes in pans then remove layers to wire rack and cool completely.

Step 5

Beat all ingredients together until smooth and creamy. Fill and frost chocolate cake layers.
