Creamy Salmon On Whole Wheat P

Water

Tbsp butter
1
Tbsp olive oil

Tbsp flour
2
cup 1% milk
½
tsp black pepper
3
cup whole wheat penne
cup grated low-fat Parmesan cheese

Tbsp pesto (from jar)

g seared salmon cut in chunks
Chili Flakes for top of salmon (optional)
½
tsp dried basil (optional)

Salad

Bag of romaine or Caesar salad mix.

Step 1

Boil water in large pot for pasta.

Step 2

Melt butter and olive oil in large non-stick fry pan.

Step 3

Stir in flour until pasty, gradually stir in milk. Stir constantly. Season with pepper.

Step 4

Add penne to pasta pot. Set timer for 12 minutes.

Step 5

Stir Parmesan cheese into cream sauce, stirring until thoroughly mixed.

Step 6

Blend in pesto and cook for a few minutes on low until thickened.

Step 7

Stir in chunks of seared salmon just before serving to heat through.

Step 8

Rinse pasta, return to pot and toss with a little basil and olive oil.

Step 9

Serve sauce over pasta.

Step 10

Rinse salad in salad spinner.

Step 11

Serve with Caesar dressing.
