This holiday season, why not give everyone’s digestive system a bit of a break from digesting wheat several times a day and offer them this great stuffing instead?
If using fresh bread, spread cubes on a baking sheet and put in a 200 degree oven for a few minutes until dried out. If using stale bread, skip this step.
Mix bread cubes, sage, onion, pine nuts salt and pepper in a bowl. Pour over melted butter and mix well.
Spoon stuffing mixture into the cavity of a chicken or turkey before putting it into the oven. Once the bird is cooked, spoon out the stuffing into a separate bowl.
To prepare stuffing to accompany something other than poultry, add 1/4C of chicken stock to the mixture and place in an oven safe pan. Cover pan in tinfoil and place in 350? oven for 15 minutes.
