Haddock Tips

These haddock tips are basically next level fish and chips! They come from the triangular shaped piece of tender fish directly next to the filet, and they’re delicious bite sized morsels once they are battered and fried to golden perfection.

ingredients

Haddock Tips

1
medium haddock filet, cut into bite size chunks
2
cups flour
Preferred fish seasoning, to taste
Salt and pepper, to taste
Canola oil, for frying
Tartar sauce, store bought

Coleslaw

cabbage, grated
1
cup carrots, grated
1
cup vegetable oil
1
cup white vinegar
½
cup sugar

Step 1

For the Haddock Tips, slice haddock filet into “tips,” triangular pieces about the size of an orange.

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine flour, salt and pepper, and fish seasoning.

Step 3

Drop the haddock tips into the flour mixture, making sure to evenly coat the haddock tip in flour. Flipping it in the bowl. Shake off excess flour.

Step 4

Transfer the coated tips into heated canola oil, enough to fill the pan and cover fish. Fry or deep fry at 350ºF for 3 mins. Take tips out of oil and they’re ready to go!

Step 5

For the coleslaw, in a bowl, combine carrots, cabbage with oil, vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper. Let sit overnight. Drain in colander and serve.

Step 6

Serve haddock tips with coleslaw.
