Directions for: Sazerac Cocktail


4 raw sugar cubes

8 drop Peychauds bitters

8 drop Angostura bitters

large splash seltzer water

4 oz rye whiskey

crushed ice

2 oz Absinthe

4 frozen rocks glasses


1. Toss the sugar, both bitters and seltzer water into a large bottle or beaker. Muddle with a wooden spoon handle until the sugar breaks up and dissolves. Pour in the rye. Fill up with crushed ice and stir momentarily to chill it.

2. Pour the Absinthe into a frozen rock glass and swirl around coating the sides evenly. Pour the excess into the next chilled glass and repeat until all the glasses are coated. Strain the cocktail into each glass and serve with a flourish!
