About the Host
Bal Arneson Bal Arneson is an author, educator and passionate advocate for simple and healthy Indian inspired cooking. Originally from a small village in the Punjab, India, Bal Arneson learned how to cook from her elders over coals in a small clay pit at the age of seven. Her first cookbook Everyday Indian is a best seller and her cookbook, Bal's Quick and Healthy Indian was released in fall 2010. When she immigrated to Canada over 15 years ago, she did not speak English or have an education. Since that time, Bal has earned a Masters in Education, taught cooking classes and launched her own organic spice line. Bal lives in Vancouver, B.C. with her husband and their two children.
