About the Host and Chef Mentor
Born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Rick Campanelli is one of Canada's most recognizable TV personalities. After winning the MuchMusic Temp contest in 1994, Rick spent the next decade interviewing everyone from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Foo Fighters to N'SYNC and Beyoncé. In 2005, Rick left MuchMusic to help launch the entertainment giant, Entertainment Tonight Canada where he is currently co-host. Whether he's on the red carpet at TIFF or in a one-on-one interview with an A-list celebrity, Rick's easy going nature and charm has made him a favourite of Hollywood's biggest stars and viewers alike.
With a last name like Campanelli, it's no surprise that Rick's favourite travel and culinary destination is Italy! From the opulent wines of Montepulciano to the fire oven pizza alla napolentana, Rick could spend his days eating and drinking his way through the country's famous cobblestone streets.
When he's not in Italy or filming in the Entertainment Tonight Canada studio, Rick enjoys spending time with his wife Angie and sons Noah, age 10 and Jack, age 1.
Raised on a farm outside of Edmonton, Corbin Tomaszeski was born to be a chef. One of his earliest memories is the smell of bread baking in his grandmother's kitchen. Coming from a large Polish Canadian family, the value of a home-cooked meal was instilled in Corbin at an early age. He often worked alongside his mother in the kitchen, helping her to create wonderful meals such as the heartwarming soups that have become one of his many trademarks.
Corbin’s creative spirit is woven into everything he does. He strives to keep the focus on food as a source of joy and stays away from fussy, rigorous rules. In addition to The Incredible Food Race, Corbin has established a strong following from hosting Food Network Canada shows such as Dinner Party Wars, Restaurant Takeover and Restaurant Makeover.
Corbin's many fans include chefs, customers and viewers alike who wish to hone or expand their cooking skills under the guidance of Corbin's pleasant and warm demeanour. A natural storyteller, Corbin says the best part of his job is sharing an incredible home-cooked meal with family and friends old and new.
