Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies

These delicious cookies are rich with chocolate and cream cheese flavours.
2 ¼ cup (550 mL) all-purpose flour
1 ½ tsp (7 mL) baking soda
½ cup (125 mL) butter, softened
8 oz (250 g) Canadian Cream cheese, softened
1 ⅓ cup sugar
10 oz (300 g) miniature chocolate chips, divided
⅓ cup (75 mL ) chopped nuts (optional)
1. Preheat oven to 350 °F (180 °C).
2. In medium bowl, stir together flour and baking soda. In large mixer bowl, cream butter and Canadian Cream cheese until light and fluffy; gradually beat in sugar and egg.
3. Melt 1 cup (250 mL) of the chocolate chips. Stir into batter. Stir in dry ingredients, remaining chocolate chips and nuts, if desired.
4. Drop tablespoons (15 mL) of batter, one dozen at a time, onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake 10 minutes or until firm around edges. Remove from baking sheets and let cool on wire racks.
