John’s Must-Try Eats

At Peruvian restaurant Tanta, the Chaufa Aeropuerto is a play on fried rice with pork, shrimp, eggs and veggies, tossed in five-spice seasoning. In the mood for something more comforting? The sliced brisket sandwich is smoked to perfection at Smoque BBQ (obviously!) and John says the pecan bread pudding is the perfect way to end the meal.

Where to Go

Depending on your interests, a city like Chicago has some of the best art, music and entertainment districts in the United States. Visiting the Art Institute of Chicago is one of the top recommended activities according to popular travel sites.

When to Visit

Choose Chicago, the city’s tourism site, recommends visiting Chicago in Spring and Summer, when the temperatures are milder and many festivals are taking place in the city.

John’s Tip

I’ve been to Chicago many times and the city has some of the best architecture in the country. Definitely make time for the architectural river tour if you can.
