Anna Olson is back with a new series, Inspired With Anna Olson, premiering Sunday, September 4th at 10 am E/P with two back-to-back episodes. In honour of her new show and another exciting season of Bake With Anna Olson coming in October, we thought we’d share some fun facts about our resident baker.
She Was Born Down South
Anna was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and grew up in Toronto. She later moved back to the U.S. to study culinary arts. She now lives in Welland, Ontario.
She's a Big Fan of Canadian Authors
While in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam for Inspired with Anna, the star chef was spotted reading Yann Martel’s, The High Mountains of Portugal, and sporting a Can-lit lovers t-shirt.
She's a Traditionalist
As Anna creates and tests recipes, she jots down notes by hand and transcribes them. She also has a soft spot for paper day planners, and buys herself one as a “back to school” treat.
She Has a Brand New Cookbook
Anna’s eighth book, Bake With Anna Olson, will hit bookstores on September 13th, 2016. If you’re eager to get your hands on a copy, you can pre-order it today.
She's a Hockey Fan
Though she doesn’t get to a game too often, Anna loves the adrenaline rush of seeing the Toronto Maple Leaf’s play live.
She Preserves Summer's Bounty
Anna loves to preserve the flavours of summer for dishes throughout the year. From strawberry jam to peach barbecue sauce, we’d love to peak into this baker’s pantry. Don’t these plum preserves look simply scrumptious?

She Still Gets Stage Fright
Anna made the jump from pastry chef to TV star after feeling like she needed a new challenge. She has said that she was initially petrified to be in front of the camera, and admits that it still makes her nervous. We can’t tell, Anna!
