lb(s) berries, cleaned (blackberries and raspberries)

vanilla bean, pulp only

cup sugar (less if berries are extremely ripe)

lemon, juice only

Step 1
Place half of the berries in a large saucepan with vanilla bean, sugar and lemon juice. Place on medium low heat and bring just to a simmer. Remove from heat and stir in remaining berries.
