Black Forest Brownies

These brownies are great frosted with a white chocolate ganache, or butter cream icing and garnished with a whole cherry per portion.

ingredients

lb(s) chopped dark chocolate
½
lb(s) unsalted butter

cup white sugar

cup brown sugar

Tbsp Kirsch liqueur
1
cup pitted and quartered Bing cherries

cup flour

Step 1

Melt the chocolate and butter together in microwave or double boiler then set aside to allow to cool to room temperature.

Step 2

Whisk together the eggs, sugars and Kirsch. (Note: do not allow the brown sugar and eggs to sit before whisking, the eggs will become grainy).

Step 3

When the chocolate/ butter mixture is cool, whisk it in to the eggs and sugar batter, then fold in the sifted flour in three stages to avoid lumps.

Step 4

Pour the batter into a greased and parchment paper lined 9” x 13” baking pan. Smooth out the batter to cover entire pan and remove air bubbles.

Step 5

Bake in 350F pre -heated oven until toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean. (approx 30 minutes)

Step 6

Let cool completely on cooling rack, then refrigerate for 1 hour prior to turning then out for ease of task.
