Ingredients

Cherry Pie

cup sweet cherries

Tbsp unsalted butter
1
cup all purpose flour
¼
tsp cinnamon
dash of salt

egg

Tbsp sugar
1
cup milk

Kirsch Glaze

Tbsp kirsch liqueur

Tbsp icing sugar

Tbsp milk

Sugared Almonds

Tbsp egg white
2
Tbsp sugar
2
cup sliced almond

Directions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 F.

Step 2

Pit cherries.

Step 3

Rub 6 4-inch tart shells with 2 tablespoons unsalted butter.

Step 4

Sift flour with cinnamon and salt into a medium bowl. Add eggs, sugar and milk and whisk together (will be the consistency of crepe batter).

Step 5

Pour into baking dishes and sprinkle cherries over.

Step 6

Bake for 20-25 minutes, until set.

Step 7

Whisk ingredients together and brush over tarts while still warm.

Step 8

Preheat oven to 350 F.

Step 9

Whisk egg white until foamy. Add sugar and whisk until white, but not meringue-like.

Step 10

Fold in almonds to coat. Spoon almonds onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Allow to cool before using.

Step 11

Almonds will store up to a month in an airtight container.

Step 12

Scatter sugared almonds over finished tarts.
