Festive Garam Masala Gingerbread Squares

Garam Masala Gingerbread Squar

cup sugar

cup molasses

cup milk

cup all-purpose flour

tsp baking powder

Tbsp garam masala (such as Arvinda’s Garam Masala)

Tbsp cocoa
½
cup almonds, coarsely chopped
½
cup black raisins

Garam Masala Orange Glaze

cup icing sugar

Tbsp orange juice
1
tsp orange zest
¼
tsp garam masala (such as Arvinda’s Garam Masala)

Assembly and Garnish

cup mixed citrus peel

Step 1

Line a large rectangular baking pan (11’’ x 15’’) or baking sheet with parchment paper. Preheat oven to 375F.

Step 2

In a large bowl, cream butter with sugar. Add eggs and mix. In a separate bowl, whisk molasses and milk together. Combine with egg mixture.

Step 3

Sift in flour, baking powder, Arvinda’s Garam Masala and cocoa and mix. Fold in almonds and raisins.

Step 4

Spread mixture onto parchment paper in a smooth ¼” layer.

Step 5

Bake in oven for approximately 15 minutes or until top bubbles and is cooked. Remove from pan and cool on a wire rack.

Step 6

In a small bowl, sift icing sugar and stir in orange juice. Mix in orange zest and Arvinda’s Garam Masala.

Step 7

Cut into small 1” x 1” squares. Drizzle each square individually with Garam Masala Orange Glaze and a sprinkle of mixed citrus peel.
