Directions for: Flambe Bananas



2 Tbsp butter (30 ml)

3 large bananas

2 Tbsp brown sugar (30 ml)

juice of ½ lime

3 to 4 tbsp. rum (45 to 60 ml)

Whipped cream, for garnish optional

Chocolate Sauce

1.5 part cream

1 part dark chocolate, chopped in small pieces



1. Over medium high heat, melt butter. Add brown sugar and bananas. Sauté for 1 to 2 minutes. Remove pan from heat and add rum. Add pan back to heat. Ignite with long match. The alcohol should burn off in a few seconds and flame will extinguish. Add the lime juice. If flame does extinguish, cover pan with lid. Serve with warm chocolate and whipped cream.

Chocolate Sauce

1. Heat cream over medium high heat until comes to a boil. Add to chopped chocolate. Stir until chocolate melts. Serve warm.
