Make These Immunity Cubes for Cold and Flu Season

Immunity cubes
Prep Time
5 min
Yields
15 small ice cubes or 6 large ice cubes

Immunity cubes are full of ingredients to support your immune system. They’re the perfect thing to always have on hand in the freezer, especially during cold and flu season, so you can easily grab one whenever you feel a little run down. Lemon, orange and carrots are all great sources of vitamin C. Ginger and turmeric are both known for their anti-inflammatory properties, which can help support the immune system. Raw honey also has anti-inflammatory properties and is often combined with ginger to help soothe sore throats and coughs. Making these immunity cubes at home is quick and easy and much more cost effective than buying fresh pressed juice at the store. You can combine them with hot water if a soothing, warming drink is what you crave or let one or two cubes defrost in a small glass to enjoy as a cold immunity shot.

Notes

This recipe requires 6 hours freezing time.

Step 1

Chop the lemon, orange and carrot into ½ inch pieces and slice the ginger and turmeric into smaller pieces. You’ll want to make sure to chop the ginger and turmeric if you don’t have a high-speed blender. Or, if you prefer to save on time, you can throw the whole piece of ginger and turmeric into the high-speed blender without chopping!
