Italian Sausage and Tomato Kabobs

4 mild Italian sausage, (about 1 pound)
32 1 inch cubes Italian bread
24 cherry tomatoes
¼ cup olive oil
3 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
2 Tbsp chopped fresh oregano
¼ tsp each salt and pepper
1 Tbsp grated parmesan cheese
1. Prick sausages all over; place in microwaveable dish. Cover with plastic wrap; microwave at High until firm, about 5 minutes. Let cool slightly; cut into quarters
2. Onto each of 8 metal skewers, alternately thread 4 bread cubes, 3 tomatoes and 2 sausage pieces. In small bowl, whisk together oil, vinegar, oregano, salt and pepper; brush some over kabobs.
3. Place kabobs on greased grill over medium-high heat; brush with some of the oil mixture. Close lid and cook, turning and basting twice with remaining oil mixture, until sausage is browned and bread is crisp, about 8 minutes. Serve sprinkled with cheese.
