Tbsp (15 ml) vegetable oil divided

clove clove of garlic minced

tsp (5 ml) turmeric

tsp (10 ml) ground cumin

cup (125 ml) All-Bran Buds* cereal crushed or All-Bran Original* cereal crushed

lb(s) (1 kg) ground beef

Tbsp (60 ml) fresh parsley, finely chopped

tsp (5 ml) salt

tsp (2 ml) fresh cracked pepper

Tbsp (15 ml) canola oil

Step 1
Heat half of the oil in non-stick skillet over medium high heat. Cook onions, stirring often, until tender and golden, about 6 minutes. Add garlic and cook just until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Remove from heat and scrape mixture into a bowl to cool completely.
Step 2
Stir cereal, beef, turmeric, cumin, parsley, salt and pepper into the cooled onion mixture.
Step 3
Form sausage shapes with 50 ml (¼ cup) of the mixture around metal or soaked bamboo skewers. Lightly brush with remaining oil.
Step 4
Grill over medium heat, turning often, until cooked through, about 10 minutes.
Step 5
Serve these with a prepared Raita, some grilled flatbread and a tomato parsley salad.
