With bright fresh notes of lemon and floral hibiscus, this refreshing cocktail is a great “go to” drink for warm summer nights. The hibiscus simple syrup recipe makes more than you need for two drinks but it’s an excellent syrup to keep in your fridge in the summer next to your Montellier® Sparkling Water with Lemon. That way a “fancy” cocktail can be prepared even when guests drop in unexpectedly. Leave the gin out for a lovely non-alcoholic option to offer guests.

Hibiscus Simple Syrup

L water

cups granulated sugar

hibiscus tea bags

oz gin

oz hibiscus simple syrup (or more, to taste)

mL Montellier® Sparkling Water with Lemon

Step 1

In a saucepan, heat water and sugar over medium-high heat until the sugar is dissolved. Increase the heat and add tea bags. Bring to a boil.

Step 2

Once the mixture has reached boiling, remove from the heat and allow the tea bags to steep for 15 minutes. Remove tea bags and allow syrup to cool to room temperature.

Step 3

Store in small jars or bottles and refrigerate until needed.

Step 4

In a cocktail shaker, shake gin and hibiscus syrup with plenty of ice.

Step 5

Pour into 2 cocktail glasses with some of the ice.

Step 6

Top with Montellier® Sparkling Water with Lemon.

Step 7

Taste and adjust the amount of simple syrup to your taste.

Step 8

Enjoy!
