red peppers, sliced 12-inch-thick

Special Equipment: Grill

Step 1

To make the lamb patties, stir together lamb, salt, garlic powder, mint, lemon juice, and 1 cup of water.

Step 2

Mix by hand for 5 minutes to tenderize the meat.

Step 3

Roll meat into 5 or 6 patties and flatten; set aside.

Step 4

In a medium pan, stir and cook peppers, parsley, salt, garlic powder, and vegetable oil for about 5 minutes, until vegetables start to soften.

Step 5

Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 6

Preheat grill to 385ºF.

Step 7

Cook burgers for about 3 minutes per side, until juices run clear.

Step 8

Toast burger buns on the grill for about 2 minutes, or to desired crispness.

Step 9

To assemble the burger, top the bottom half of the bun with lettuce, sliced tomato, crumbled feta, the lamb patty, the red pepper mixture, more feta, and tzatziki.

Step 10

Add top half of the bun and serve.
