This simple pan fried gnocchi comes together in under 30 minutes and is the perfect weeknight pasta dish. It gets its flavour by browning the butter first, which gives a really toasty and nutty aroma to the final dish. Use store-bought gnocchi for ease or homemade if you are feeling adventurous!
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the gnocchi according to package directions.
To a skillet over medium heat add the butter. Continue cooking until the butter turns a golden brown. Watch it closely as it will go from brown butter to burnt butter very quickly.
Lower the heat and add the sage. Continue cooking until the sage is crispy, about 2 minutes.
Add the cooked gnocchi and pan fry until golden, about 2 minutes.
Remove from heat. Add the lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, pepper and parmesan cheese. Serve immediately!
