Shrimp Creole

Ingredients

lb(s) medium shrimp, peeled and deveined

tsp salt
¼
tsp black pepper
½
tsp garlic powder
tsp ground allspice
3
Tbsp vegetable oil
1
large onion, chopped in large pieces
2
medium tomatoes, chopped in large pieces
1
large green pepper, seeded and chopped in large pieces
1
tsp white vinegar
¼
cup ketchup
1
tsp sugar
½
tsp Scotch bonnet pepper, seeded and minced

Directions

Step 1

In a medium bowl, season shrimp with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and allspice. In a large saucepan over medium heat, sauté onions and shrimp in oil for 2 to 3 minutes.

Step 2

Set aside. In the same saucepan combine tomatoes, green peppers, vinegar, ketchup, sugar, and Scotch bonnet pepper and sauté for 5 to 7 minutes. Add onions and shrimp and cook for an additional minute.
