This bright and sparkling drink is filled with Canadian flavour though and through, from the tart and sweet rhubarb simple syrup, to Canadian rye whisky and completed with a splash of Canadian Montellier® Sparkling Water. A cocktail this patriotic is best enjoyed with classic Canadian cuisine, so gather your friends to a platter of poutine (served family-style), or opt for an easy, elegant Canadian cheese plate with sharp Cheddars and gooey brie drizzled with, you guessed it, maple syrup!

Rhubarb Simple Syrup
Sparkling Rhubarb Whisky Sour
directions
In a saucepan, heat the water, sugar and chopped rhubarb over medium-high heat until the mixture is boiling, stirring occasionally.
Lower the heat to medium and continue to cook, stirring occasionally for 8 minutes. The rhubarb will have become very soft at this point.
Remove from the heat and pour the mixture through a metal sieve into large bowl and use a rubber spatula to press down the fruit to release the liquid.
Bring the syrup to room temperature, pour into small jars or bottles and refrigerate until needed.
Add ice to each glass.
Pour rhubarb simple syrup, then the whisky over ice.
Top up with Montellier™ Sparking Water, to taste.
Stir and adjust with more simple syrup if needed.
Top with a cherry and enjoy!
