This movie theater-inspired dip is the perfect cheese sauce for dipping tortilla chips, pretzels and even crunchy vegetables! The not so secret ingredient in this recipe is to pickled jalapenos for that distinctive jalapeno flavour. It also ensures the dip is not too spicy, so everyone can enjoy it!
To a saucepan over low heat add the butter and flour. Cook until the flour is toasted, about 2 minutes.
Add the milk, garlic powder, cumin, salt and pepper. Turn heat to medium and bring mixture to a gentle simmer. Continue cooking until the sauce thickens and coats the back of a spoon, about 5 minutes.
Remove from heat. Whisk in the cheese followed by the pickled jalapeno.
Transfer to a serving bowl & serve warm with tortilla chips for dipping.
