Michael Smith's Beer Steamed Mussels

Mussels get a little extra flavour when steamed in a little hops and barley.

5 lb. mussels
1 bottle of your favourite beer
½ sticks of butter (1/4 cup or 2 ounces)
1 baguette, cut into 1-inch slices
Salt and pepper
1. Preheat your grill to high.
2. Drizzle the baguette slices with olive oil, salt and pepper and grill until crispy and golden.
3. Meanwhile toss the mussels, beer and butter into a large pot. Cover and steam over high heat until the mussels open, about 7-8 minutes. Serve with the beer broth and the grilled bread for dipping.
