Directions for: Plum Syrup with Star Anise


6 black plums, cut into cubes

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

5 pods star anise


1. Place all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Simmer over medium heat, stirring frequently, for 15 minutes. Strain and transfer to a small pitcher. Refrigerate until chilled, about 4 hours. Use to flavour sparkling wine or drizzle over vanilla ice cream.
