Directions for: Bal's Rice Pudding

Ingredients

1 ½ cup cooked brown rice

3 cup milk

7 cardamom pods (opened)

5 whole cloves

¼ cup slivered almonds

¼ cup raisins

3 Tbsp honey

seasonal fruit for topping

Directions

1. Put everything in a large saucepan and bring to a boil on med heat. To open the cardamom pods, just press hard with your finger tips over a cutting board until it snaps. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the milk is absorbed and mixture has thickened and it resembles risotto. Serve hot or cold and top with seasonal fruit such as mango or berries.
