Not your average brown bag lunch, this sandwich-on-a-stick can be fully customized with the ingredients your kids love most.

bread slice (or bun, bagel, pita or croissant)
butter, cream cheese or pesto (optional)
cup (125 mL) cubed cooked meat, or 2 pieces deli meat, cut into thin strips
cup (125 mL) cubed hard cheese, or small bocconcini
cup (50 mL) chopped bell pepper
cup (50 mL) cherry tomatoes
cup (50 mL) cubed cucumber
cup (125 mL) torn lettuce
bamboo skewers, splinters removed
If desired, spread bread with butter, cream cheese or pesto. Cut into 8 pieces.
With each skewer, spear bread, meat, cheese, pepper, tomato, cucumber and lettuce, repeating ingredients if desired and ending with a second piece of bread.
Tip: When preparing your ingredients, be sure to cut everything into similar-size pieces.
